A. While there is no expiration date printed on the kit package, the collection tube remains valid for at least 3 years.
After collecting your stool sample, please return it as soon as possible, ideally within one week.
Delays in returning the sample may affect the accuracy of your test results.
A. The gut microbiome analysis conducted through Body Granola is entrusted to AMILI, Singapore’s leading gut microbiome company and a trusted partner of many public and private research institutions.
AMILI uses 16S rRNA sequencing, a scientific method that analyzes the genetic sequences of bacteria found in stool samples.
This approach identifies which types of bacteria are present in your gut and their relative abundance, one of the key techniques used in microbiome research.
A. After collecting your stool sample, please return it as soon as possible, and preferably within one week for the most accurate results.
Although the stabilizer in the collection tube can preserve the sample for up to 180 days, timely return helps ensure optimal testing accuracy.
A. Please store the sample in a cool place away from direct sunlight before mailing it.
Refrigeration is not required, as temperature changes may affect the sample quality.
Singapore’s climate is suitable for maintaining the integrity of the stool sample until it is sent for testing.

A. If the stool collection sheet tears, you can use folded toilet paper as a substitute, as it dissolves easily when flushed.
Please position the toilet paper so that the stool sample does not touch the water in the toilet bowl.
The current stool collection method, using the provided sheet placed on the toilet is also suitable for Singapore’s toilet environment.

A. You can take the test once your stool condition has returned to normal.
If you are experiencing temporary constipation or diarrhea, it is best to wait until the condition subsides before collecting your sample.
However, if constipation or diarrhea is part of your usual bowel pattern and no change is expected soon, you may proceed with the test without waiting.
A. For the most consistent results, we recommend collecting your sample about one week after your menstrual period ends, when your body’s hormone levels and gut microbiome have stabilized.
If you experience digestive symptoms during your period, waiting up to two weeks is ideal.
If it is unavoidable to collect during menstruation, please ensure that the sample is not contaminated with menstrual blood.
If blood contamination prevents proper analysis, we will inform you and may request a new sample.
We also recommend addressing any ongoing health or hormonal issues before testing for the most accurate results.
A. A sample of the test results is available in the middle section of the “Let’s Check Your gut microbiome” page on the Test Kit Purchase page.
